I think it will make it worse. That’s almost half the league. To me there are already too many teams in the playoffs. The regular season is very watered down because of it and adding more teams will further dilute the importance of the regular season. Ravens/Titans is probably the one game I’m looking most forward to, but there are a couple other matchups I’m eager to see too. Rams/Seahawks and Browns/Steelers. Both of these are interdivision matchups against mostly evenly matched teams. The Browns got crushed by the Steelers in Week 6, 38–7, back when the Steelers were steamrolling through their schedule. They met again last week where the Steelers were resting their best starters and the Browns eked out a victory, 24–22. Between those two matchups though, the Browns have looked really good, beating the Titans, and losing a close one to the Ravens along the way. Meanwhile, the Steelers went from an 11–0 start to finish the season 12–4 and have looked like a completely different team the last month or so. It’ll be fun to see if the Steelers have gotten the kinks figured out or if they’ll continue to struggle against a good Browns squad. Plus, the Browns haven’t made the playoffs in almost 20 years.
