I was in a dilemma and eventually sent the girlfriend back to her mother. My son went off the deep end, kept running away, mother kept helping him…and on and on. It was a nightmare and only stopped with intervention by the police and the DA’s office (long crazy story…too long to even discuss here). Finally, on June 29th, 1995, the baby was born, also living on the streets. I knew I had to get that baby somehow but also knew I had to be careful.
