Self-defense isn’t homicide unless somebody gets killed. Most self-defense acts don’t rise to that level. A killing done in genuine self-defense is recognized in law as justifiable homicide. As a general rule, with a lot of qualifications, you are justified in taking another’s life if you reasonably believe he is about to either take yours or inflict great bodily harm upon you. There’s an old saying that still applies… I would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6. If my choice is death or injury for me or my family – I would rather at least have the Cartoon Aaron Rodgers New York Jets sauce shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this opportunity to defend myself and my family, and face whatever consequences after. I have a CHL and carry where practical. In these days and times, I feel that not carrying is a really bad idea.

No one is getting away with murder and calling it self defense. A burglar breaking into your house could do it with a knife you have in the kitchen, a statue you have on the mantel or many other things you have laying around the house. If someone breaks in you already know they are a criminal that’s up to no good and you have no idea what they are going to do. If you are attacked by three thugs they can beat you to death. If you are attacked by someone with no provocation you know they are violent and have no idea what they are going to do. If a 5’ 3” woman is attacked by a 250 pound 6’ 1” rapist are you saying she should accept her rape cause the rapist did not have a gun so she can’t use the best tool to convince the rapist otherwise?
